The West Point Society of the Lehigh Valley recently announced the recipients of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Leadership Award for Student Leader of Character for 2020.
Parkland junior Gwendolyn K. Houser, Emma J. Burton of Northwestern Lehigh; and Aiden G. Williams of Northern Lehigh were honored with the award.
The Eisenhower Leadership Award is presented annually to the junior who, in the opinion of each high school principal and faculty, has demonstrated outstanding attributes of character, service, and leadership in the areas of academics, athletics, community service, and good citizenship.
The award consists of a certificate and letter of commendation, the student’s name engraved on a perpetual plaque on display in their school, and an invitation to attend a recognition event at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.
Unfortunately, due to the ongoing pandemic, the recognition event was canceled.
