Criminal mischief
The rear window of a vehicle was reported damaged while on Kings Highway South, Upper Milford Township, between 2 and 4 p.m. Aug. 6.
DUI
James Andrew Smith Jr., 61, of Oak Ridge, N.J., allegedly was driving under the influence at the time of a single vehicle crash at the intersection of Limeport Pike and Steinsburg Road, Lower Milford Township, 10:14 p.m. July 28, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 40-year-old male, of Macungie, was placed under arrest for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop at the intersection of Hidden Valley Road and East Texas Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:29 a.m. Aug. 1, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Stephen L. Malarchik, 51, of Allentown, allegedly was found to be driving under the influence after troopers responded to the intersection of U.S. 222 South and North Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:41 a.m. July 22, where a driver was found asleep at the wheel of a vehicle in the turning lane of the highway, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Drug possession
Keil A. Torok, 36, of Macungie, allegedly was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence after a traffic stop in the 3300 block of Willow Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 2:17 a.m. June 27, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Terroristic threats
Two people received threats by voice mail at a location in the 7000 block of Crane Xing, Lower Macungie Township, 7:30 p.m. June 16, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A former employee allegedly sent threatening emails received at a location on Treeline Drive, Lower Macungie Township, July 29, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Harassment
A complainant reported inappropriate digital messages allegedly sent by the manager of a business on Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, 7:15 a.m. and 10 a.m. July 21, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A resident of the 4600 block of Mill Road, Lower Macungie Township, allegedly used derogatory names during an argument with a neighbor about a shared driveway and property line dispute June 16, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Theft
A wallet was removed from a shopping cart at a business on Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:48 p.m. July 18, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. An investigation found three people were conspiring together to take wallets from customers in the store at the time. Two unidentified males worked together to remove a wallet from the purse of a female on North Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 1 p.m. July 31. The males then immediately used credit cards from the wallet to purchase items at the local Target, 749 N. Krocks Road, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Identity theft
An unknown person used the personal information of a 57-year-old female, of Coopersburg, to attempt to obtain a small business loan. The incident was reported at a location on Blue Church Road, Lower Milford Township, 4:21 p.m. Aug. 6.
An unknown person used information of a 77-year-old male, of Willow Lane, Lower Macungie Township, to file for unemployment compensation, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported 12:44 p.m. July 29.
A resident of the 4200 block of Reservoir Hill Road, Lower Macungie Township, told police someone was using the identity of her deceased brother-in-law to purchase items, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported May 22.
A customer at TD Bank, 5980 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, told police a bank account there was opened using his personal information without his knowledge, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported May 29.
Scam
A Lower Macungie Township resident sent $600 in gift cards to an unknown person after being contacted through social media and text messages. The unknown person told the resident he would pay off the resident’s credit card debt if the gift cards were sent to him. The resident sent the gift cards before realizing the offer was a scam, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported July 13.
An Upper Milford Township resident was scammed out of money by people claiming to work for the Mega Millions lottery between Feb. 1 and May 7, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Vehicle theft
A person failed to bring back a one-day rental U-Haul white 2019 Ford Econoline 100 van to McNabb’s Automotive Repair, 4948 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, scheduled to be returned June 4, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle was not returned to the business as of July 22 and was recovered by Phillipsburg, N.J. police July 23.
