The Salisbury Township School District has released its final update before the start of the 2020-2021 school year.

The year will begin with two student orientation days Sept. 2 and 3. Orientation will be broken down into two groups, based on last name.

Kindergarten will have orientation 8:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., fifth and sixth grade students will have orientation 7:45 to 9:45 a.m. and ninth grade students will have orientation 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Please refer to the district email for more information. All schools will be closed Sept. 4 and 7 for Labor Day and the official first full day of learning for group A will be Sept. 8. Please note all classroom and bus information was made available on the portal Aug. 17. Here we go!

The next school board meeting is currently scheduled 7:30 p.m. Aug. 19 at the administration building.

The Salisbury High School G.I.V.E. Club is holding a backpack drive to directly benefit the Valley Youth House noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 22. The club is looking for donations of school supplies and backpacks to be dropped off at the main entrance of SHS. For a complete list of requested donations, please view the flier posted on the school district website under the live feed tab. All questions can be directed to club adviser Ann Schneider at aschneider@salisburysd.org.

Due to COVID-19, SHS will not be conducting Baseline ImPACT sessions in person at this time. Students will be able to complete the test in the comfort of their own homes. Who needs a new Baseline ImPACT test? Any Salisbury Middle School/SHS student-athlete/team manager in seventh, eighth and ninth grade, any SHS student-athlete/team manager who has not taken a new baseline test within the last two years or any student-athlete/team manager who sustained a concussion in the 2019-2020 school year.

Please note this is not for Salisbury Youth Association sports.

Testing takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and the athlete must take the test in a quiet room on his/her own with no distractions. Please take the test seriously and do not use pen/pencil/paper/phones. You must use Google Chrome or Internet Explorer (not Firefox). Only new athletes to the district, seventh, eighth, ninth and 11th grade students are required to take the test (once in high school you need to take it only every two years). If you are unsure if you need to take the test or have any questions, contact Salisbury Athletic Trainer Julie Nunn at jnunn@salisburysd.org.

Salisbury Township drop-off centers continue to be open on a weekly rotating basis. Devonshire is open the week of Aug. 17 and Franko Farm is open the week of Aug. 24. Hours remain 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Thursday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
