Joseph T. Sodl, 77, of Whitehall, died Aug. 7, 2020, at home. He was the husband of the late Sandra C. (Barter) Sodl.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Joseph T. and Helen M. (Gaczor) Sodl.

He had a career in maintenance for many years.

He was a St. Peter Roman Catholic Church member and was active in the Men of Malvern retreats.

He is survived by three sons, Thomas, Michael and his wife Cheri and Edward; two daughters, Annmarie Sodl and Marybeth Gendron; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Anthony and his wife Ann; two sisters, Mary Catherine Sodl and Helen Smith and her husband George; and a sister-in-law, Linda Barter.

There will be a viewing 9-10 a.m. Aug. 13 at the funeral home, 326 E. 21st St., followed by a Mass of Christian burial 10:30 a.m. at the church, 4 S. Fifth St., Coplay, 18037. Wear a face cover and practice social distancing.

Contributions may be made to the church, to Helwig Diabetes Center or to Family Pillars Hospice.
