James Franklin Fox, 87, of Middletown, Conn., and formerly of Coplay, died Aug. 4, 2020, at Water’s Edge Center for Health and Rehabilitation, Middletown.
Born in Coplay, he was a son of the late Dr. William Frederick Sr. and Grace Irene (Long) Fox.
He was a graduate of the former Coplay High School and of Penn State University.
He was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a land surveyor for Capital Engineering Company, Middletown, Conn., for 40 years until he retired in 2002. He was previously employed by the U.S. Department of Forestry.
He is survived by a sister, Sarah E. Fox of Coplay; four nieces, Robin H. Sieger of Palmetto, Fla., Stacy Biechey with Dean of Northampton, Carol Sommers of Whitehall and Christine Parola with Bruce of Moscow, Pa.; a great-niece, Gretchem Goetzman of Chicago, Ill., and her brother, Grandon, on his way to Korea; a great-nephew, Kyle Sommers of Broomall; and two great-nieces, Sophia and Maria Parola, both of Moscow.
He was predeceased by a brother, William F. Fox Jr.; and a sister, Doris Sieger.
