Firefighters from the Lower Macungie Fire Department responded to several storm-related calls including at a residence in the 7000 block of Cedar Road reportedly struck by lightning shortly after 7 a.m. First crews to arrive on the scene reported an odor of smoke inside the home. Crews used an aerial ladder to inspect the roof and chimney of the home, while additional crews worked inside to locate the source of the odor. Trexlertown firefighters and an EMS crew from Macungie Ambulance Corps also responded.
