Gertrude M. O’Donnell, 84, of Northampton, died July 25, 2020, in Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late James O’Donnell.
Born in Hazleton, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Gallagher) Hanley.
She was a 1954 graduate of St. Gabriel’s Catholic High School, Hazleton, and was a 1956 graduate of the Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing, Allentown.
She was a registered nurse and phlebotomist for Miller Memorial Blood Center, Bethlehem, until she retired in 2005.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Egypt.
She was former Girl Scout troop leader in Egypt.
She is survived by six daughters, Mary O’Donnell-Miller and her husband Kenneth Miller of Bath, Kathryn and her husband John Martin of Morrisville, Miriam and her husband Bob Rohrbach of Choctaw, Okla., Adele and her husband Paul LaPointe of Ellicott City, Md., Elizabeth and her husband David Gandolfo of Greenville, S.C., and Margaret and her husband Brian Malloy of Blue Bell; two sons, James and his wife Beth Shelly-O’Donnell of Raleigh, N.C., and Christopher and his wife Janessa Lanning O’Donnell of Coopersburg; 20 grandchildren; a sister, Clare O’Donnell of Va.; nieces; and nephews.
She was predeceased by four sisters, Mary McNelis, Rita Kosewicz, Anne Stackhouse and Joan Cooney; and three brothers, Francis, Daniel and Michael.
