Whitehall Township Public Library is open to the public but will be following the state mandate on the limited number of patrons permitted in the building.

We will continue to follow the Office of Commonwealth Libraries and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

The new library hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Fridays.

We will follow the protocols of social distancing, and patrons must wear a mask at all times while in the building.

For the safety of our staff and other patrons, if you feel ill, do not come inside but rather use curbside pickup.

Curbside pickup will be 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays. The library is closed to patrons on Saturdays.

Patrons will have one hour to browse the collection and select items to check out and/or two hours to use the public computers. Please sign up to use a public computer at the front desk. We will wipe down each station after every use.

Patrons must use hand sanitizer when entering the library. There are three hand sanitizer stations located in the library. Gloves and masks will be provided, if needed by the patrons.

All patrons should wear a face covering for the duration of their time in the library, unless they have a medical condition that prevents them from doing so.

Patrons should gather their books, DVDs or books on CD and come to the front circulation desk, check out and leave the library so the next patron may come in. Please bring your library card. Puzzles will not be available for checkout.

Patrons are encouraged to only handle materials they wish to check out.

Returns will not be accepted at the circulation desk but must be placed in the yellow book drop in the parking lot.

The public computers have been arranged in order to follow the social-distancing guidelines. Each keyboard and mouse will be sanitized between appointments.

Prints from the computer are 10 cents for black and white or $1 for color. You must pay with the exact amount or we will add it to your library card account. Please bring exact change. Transactions must be more than $5 to use a credit card.

Patrons may also download and read or listen to books on Overdrive and Libby. Go to whitehallpl.org, then click on Research & Learn on the middle gold banner; click on Overdrive; sign in to Carbon Lehigh Downloadable; pick Whitehall TPL; type in the bar code and PIN from your purple library card and search for whatever authors and titles you would like to read.

If you don’t have a purple LCLC library card, you may apply online. Go to our website, click on My Account and choose Request Library Card.

Fill in the information with your email address, and we will email you a library card number and information so you can start using it that day. You may pick up the physical card in person at the library.
