Summer fun plentiful at Concordia Lutheran Church

PRESS PHOTOS BY MARY PATRICIA FLETCHER There is a lot going on this summer at Concordia Lutheran Church, 2623 Brookside Road, Macungie. Due to restrictions of COVID-19 and social distancing, the vacation Bible school program “Rainforest Explorers” is virtual. Volunteers gathered to organize a six-week program of stories, activities, games and craft supplies to distribute to families registered for the program. Concordia Lutheran Preschool holds a clothing drive recently. The extra time at home over the past few months resulted in a big turnout of clothing which was donated to Via of the Lehigh Valley. Crystal Meck and Jenna Ottinger help unload Karen Schultz's van.
The Concordia Community Garden is thriving this summer. Pat Domyan and Jennifer Tillinghast take time July 25 to weed and harvest. The vegetables are sold to church members and the money is donated to a local food bank. Preschool families are invited to help tend the garden.
