Helen Sommer, 80, of Northampton, died July 20, 2020, at home. She was the wife of the late Joseph S. Sommer.
Born in East Mauch Chunk, she was a daughter of the late Herbert C. and Jennie (Cutrone) Huber.
She was a 1957 graduate of Central Catholic High School. She earned a nursing degree from Sacred Heart School of Nursing in 1960.
She was a registered nurse in osteopathic medicine at Sacred Heart Hospital (formerly Haff Hospital), Northampton. She then worked as a PICC nurse, evening assistant supervisor and recovery room nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown.
She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Northampton.
She is survived by four sons, Michael, David, Matthew and his wife Judi and Kevin and his wife Kristen; four daughters, Kaye Anne Liskanich and her husband Ed, Tina Sommer-Tan and her husband Ed, Jennifer Sommer and her companion Jeremy Dogmanits and Mary Jo Gigliotti and her husband Joe; fourteen grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a sister, Marie Kozero.
