Ellen Heist, 99, died July 25, 2020, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Earl O. Heist. Born in East Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Oliver and Elsie (Frey) Ruth.

She was a member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church and was an avid bingo player.

She is survived by a son, Daniel Wright; stepsons, Donald and Dale; daughters, Sandra Schlicher and Rosemary Romig; a stepdaughter, Sharon Gergar; a brother, Ernest Ruth and a sister, Grace Curio; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Barbara Lewis; brothers, James Sr., LeRoy, Stanley and Raymond Ruth.
