VALLEY Miller-Keystone benefit Aug. 1-8

Miller-Keystone Blood Center’s 26th annual “Cruise Aboard the LifeLine®“ signature fundraiser Aug. 1- 8 will be a virtual event for the first time.

As in previous years, the 2020 Cruise event includes sponsorship, silent auction and direct pledge opportunities.

“While Miller-Keystone Blood Center currently serves communities in more than 12 counties, our physical Cruise Aboard the LifeLine event was Lehigh Valley-centric,” said Corporate Director of Communications Marie Clemens. “By hosting as a virtual event in 2020, we are able to reach our full geographic service area and give everyone an opportunity to support our event and our mission.”

Clemens said the hosting of a virtual event this year also gives the Blood Center the opportunity to build momentum for its 50th anniversary, which will be celebrated September 2021.

Funds from the annual Cruise event help to ensure a safe and stable blood supply for the 29 regional hospitals served by Miller-Keystone Blood Center by underwriting the purchase of blood collection equipment, laboratory technology and bloodmobile vehicles, supporting the MKBC scholarship program, and more.

Among the leading sponsors of this year’s event are RCN, BSI Corporate Benefits, Highmark, Viamedia, Lehigh Valley Health Network and St. Luke’s University Health Network.
