LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

LV ACADEMY, June 15, 2020, Becky’s Drive-in

With a pandemic on our hands and keeping the Class of 2020 on our toes, we were all stressed out as to whether or not we would have a graduation. With the way that things were looking, we had all come down to the conclusion that graduation would be virtual. Little did we know that the administration at Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter School had a different plan for us seniors. Administration not only pulled a successful graduation but they also had a Senior Parade, which was an amazing experience to be able to see all our teachers and friends before the big day.

On June 15, the faculty and staff, seniors and family of LVA all gathered at Becky’s Drive- in for a night to remember. It was graduation night. As families pulled in wearing masks and seniors wearing their caps and gowns, it all became even more real. The time had finally come, and we were all excited to get a graduation ceremony we all deserved. It may not have been how we expected, but it was still a night that will never be forgotten.

Graduation had started at 8:30 p.m. with a nice talk from our CEO, Susan Mouser and our principal, Jennifer Nonnomacher. Seniors then went up in waves, making sure that they had their masks and were six feet apart. As each of our names got called upon the radio, we walked to the front of so many people to finally get our diplomas. We each had our pictures taken, then walked back to where our families were located.

The night proceeded with a talk from senior Student Council members Lourdes Sanchez and Saniyah Sessoms wishing their classmates sweet regards and best wishes to a successful future. Finally, a wave of fireworks wase set off, lighting up the sky in different colors as a signature sign-off for the night.

The Class of 2020 has finally made it. You can officially say, it’s a wrap.
