Ready to receive! Donations of nonperishable food items are wanted at Christ’s Church at Lowhill Food Pantry, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, New Tripoli.

Items most needed are any kind of cereal, oatmeal, breakfast bars, pancake mix, syrup, peanut butter, jelly, juices, soups, Ramen noodles, spaghetti sauce, canned fruits, pastas, beans, tuna, vegetables and meats.

Also needed are personal care products, such as tissues, toilet paper, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo and deodorant, etc.

Each donation is extremely appreciated and may be dropped off at the pantry 9-11 a.m. on the first Tuesday of every month and on the last Saturday of every month.

The next drop off dates are July 25 and Aug. 4.

Please leave the items outside the pantry’s front door without entering.

Better together! Germansville Fire Company is having an ongoing membership drive.

As with your dues, additional donations of any amount toward the general fund or truck fund may be sent to Goodwill Fire Company, P.O. Box 69, Germansville, PA 18053.

Residents who have not received a membership form by mail, should contact the fire company at 610-767-7757 and leave their name and number. Someone will get back to you.

With the fire company in mind, here’s an important message from them.

“During the grilling season, please be careful using propane gas grills.

“Always position the grill away from your house and out of the hot sun if possible,” the fire company says.
