A resident of the 4000 block of Ascot Circle, Lower Macungie Township, was billed for more than $4,000 in cellphones and plans after his personal information was used without his consent, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported June 30.
A resident of the 1500 block of Pinewind Drive, Lower Macungie Township, learned her work email was hacked and used to change the address to which her paycheck was sent from her employer. The resident was able to stop the address change and secure her information, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 41-year-old female, of Pottstown, reported a friend of hers used her credit card and debit card after she accidentally left her wallet at her friend’s residence on West Mill Hill Road, Lower Milford Township, July 2, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The credit and debit cards were used at several locations throughout Pennsylvania. The incident was reported July 5.
A resident of Forest Lane, Lower Macungie Township, was contacted by someone she believed to be an old friend who asked her to purchase eBay gift cards to donate to a foundation in return for money from the foundation. The resident purchased gift cards and sent them as requested. The resident then contacted the friend by phone and discovered her friend was not involved at all. The resident lost $900 in the incident, which was reported May 26, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 60-year-old female, of Allentown, reported unknown persons removed her wallet, a cellphone and several credit and debit cards from her bag while she was shopping at Target, 291 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, June 25 and used several of her cards to make transactions totaling $1,231.70 at the store. The suspects were seen on video surveillance using the woman’s debit and credit cards at a nearby store. They left the area in a white sedan. The woman reported a total loss of $4,019.23 including: an iPhone 7 smartphone in a leather case, valued at $700, $90 in cash, a leather pocketbook valued at $125, $668.33 charged to a PNC Bank credit card, $1,271.33 charged to a Wells Fargo bank debit card, $411.70 charged to a Synchrony Bank credit card, $424.58 charged to a Capital One credit card, a driver’s license, nursing certification card and two additional Visa cards, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 21-year-old female, of Mertztown, lost her wallet at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 11:36 a.m. June 1. The wallet was turned in to store personnel but the money inside the wallet was stolen, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 42-year-old driver was injured when her car hit and snapped a utility pole in a one-vehicle accident along Main Road East, Upper Milford Township, 8:03 a.m. June 4. According to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville, the driver was eastbound when her vehicle went off the road, spinning clockwise before striking the pole. The damaged pole landed on the roof of the vehicle and wires from the pole dangled across the road, blocking Main Road East between Acorn Drive and Javis Drive. The driver declined to be taken to the hospital. Verizon was notified about damage to the pole, according to police.
A 49-year-old driver, of Allentown, escaped injury when a boulder struck her car along Limeport Pike, Lower Milford Township, 6:34 a.m. July 10. According to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville, the driver was traveling west when the boulder fell into the roadway from an embankment. Detwiler Automotive also responded to the scene.
A 34-year-old driver, of Bethlehem, was hurt when her vehicle rolled over in a one-vehicle crash on Hamilton Boulevard at Kressler Road, Lower Macungie Township, 1 a.m. July 9. According to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville, the driver was traveling too fast while negotiating a left curve and went through the intersection. The vehicle went over the curb and into a grassy area where the vehicle struck a tree and flipped onto the left side. The driver had injuries to her left leg and right forearm and wrist and was transported to a hospital. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
A 33-year-old driver, of Hellertown, escaped injury when the truck he was driving rolled in a one-vehicle accident on Mertztown Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:32 p.m. July 8. According to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville, the driver was traveling east near the intersection of Butz Road when the 2004 L9500 Sterling truck he was driving went off the road. The undercarriage of the truck hit the roadway and the truck toppled. Lower Macungie firefighters and fire police, Alburtis firefighters and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation also responded.
Attempted theft from vehicle
An unknown person attempted to enter two vehicles parked in a driveway at a residence along Bordeaux Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 8:52 a.m. June 17.
A tire was punctured and the rear passenger window of a vehicle was cracked while it was parked in the 800 block of Cold Springs Road, Lower Macungie Township, between 9 p.m. June 16 and 2 p.m. June 17. Total damage was estimated at $250, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 37-year-old male, of Emmaus, allegedly slashed tires on a vehicle parked at a residence on Vera Cruz Road, Upper Milford Township, 8:30 p.m. July 3, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The male allegedly used a knife to puncture the front and rear left tires, valued at $400, of a 2013 Subaru Forester.
The manager of a business in the 6900 block of Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, reported June 13 that a dumpster belonging to the business was partially full of trash not generated by the business after an unknown person threw trash into the dumpster, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported 9:50 a.m. June 13.
A 45-year-old female, of Allentown, allegedly under rang $67.34 in merchandise at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 3:19 p.m. July 8, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 50-year-old female and a 54-year-old male, both of Lower Macungie Township, were cited for alleged harassment after police were called to a residence in the 5400 block of Stonecroft Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 9:01 p.m. June 30, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
An unknown person entered a residence on Acorn Drive, Upper Milford Township and removed jewelry, clothing, makeup and money between 11 a.m. July 1 and 4:30 a.m. July 2, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
