Lt. Col. Shawn J. Shutts, U.S. Army, of Macungie, graduated with a master’s degree in strategic studies recently.

Shutts is a graduate of Lycoming College. His next assignment will be as assistant chief of staff, operations and training, 53rd Troop Command, Camp Smith, N.Y.

The U.S. Army War College’s two-year distance education curriculum develops senior military officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, as well as senior foreign military officers and civilian officials from a variety of federal agencies, to serve in strategic level command and staff positions.
