Virginia A. Thompson, 74, of North Chesterfield, Va., and formerly of Northampton, died June 30, 2020. She was the wife of David Thompson for 53 years.

Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Pearl (Reinert) Edelman.

She was last employed by American Partition Systems for more than 20 years before retiring in 2016.

She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Mark and Scott and his wife Theresa; a granddaughter, Heather; two great-granddaughters, Peyton and Hannah; a sister, Irene Waltz of Northampton; two nieces, Jane and Cindy; and two nephews, Jim and George.

She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Edelman; and a sister, Mae Kovalchick.
