Uprising takes place at Trexlertown mall

There was an uprising June 17 in Trexlertown.

The event, however, had nothing to do with current unsettling events occurring throughout the United States and the world.

The uprising was a slow, deliberate process to raise the roof on the former Bon-Ton department store in the Trexlertown Mall.

UrbanAir, a children’s adventure company, has purchased the property in order to install its largest facility in North America.

By raising the roof 7 feet over its original height, the company will be able to offer adventures such as climbing walls and other elevated challenges for their clients.

Additionally, the venue will house trampolines, indoor sky diving, zip lines and a host of other activities for children.

Plus, with 64,000 square feet of available floor space, UrbanAir can add an indoor go-cart track for those interested in racing.

According to Matt Pitz, franchise owner, an early October 2020 opening is planned and 80, mostly part-time employees, will be hired.

UrbanAir, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, operates more than 200 adventure parks throughout North America and Europe.
