Madeline A. Hemerly, 92, of Germansville, died July 5, 2020, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
Born Feb. 16, 1928, in Heidelberg Township, she was the daughter of the late Earl D. and Gladys I. (Handwerk) George.
A graduate of the former Bethlehem School of Business, she was a secretary at the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 17 years before retiring.
Concurrently, she was employed at Dorney Park in the cash control department.
A professional accordionist and member of American Accordionists’ Association, she performed with the Accordion Pops Orchestra.
In addition, she was a professional entertainer and taught accordion.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of Heidelberg Union Church.
Her survivors include a daughter Dorothea M. Hemerly of Germansville; niece Cathy DeCrosta; and nephews Brian George, and Jim and Steve Hemerly.
She was predeceased by her brother, Lawrence E. George.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. on July 11 at Heidelberg Union Church Cemetery, 5187 Irvin Road, Heidelberg Township. There will be no public calling hours.
