North Catasauqua Borough Council next meets 7 p.m. July 20 in the basement of borough hall, 1066 Fourth St.

Following an increase in resident complaints, North Catasauqua Police Department reminds residents fireworks are not permitted to be set off within the borough’s limits.

Despite being legal to buy and own, fireworks cannot be lit within 150 feet of an occupied structure. A small community such as North Catasauqua does not have enough open space to allow for the legal lighting of fireworks.
