We are continuing Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative’s community outreach program through Aug. 27.

We have been feeding 200 adults, 210 children and 70 seniors on average every two weeks. We give food to any Whitehall Township and Coplay Borough resident who comes to our sites.

At every distribution, we get new guests who did not know we are providing food for those in need. This program has been going on since March. Tell your families, friends and neighbors about us.

We are here to help at Redeemed Christian Church of God, 5 N. Third St., Coplay, and St. John’s Lutheran Church, 835 N. Third St., Whitehall.

Our next distribution will be 11 a.m.-noon and 6-7 p.m. July 16 at both locations. Residents can only come to one location and only at one time. Future distributions are July 30 and Aug. 13 and 27.

Identification is required. Nonresidents will be turned away but given a resource list.

We are requesting the following food items for the next distribution: 15-ounce cans of pasta, large boxes of cereal, peanut butter or cheese crackers, Hamburger Helper and individual boxes of raisins.

We are grateful for the generous donations the public has given to us. It truly shows the heart of our community - helping those less fortunate. Kudos to all of you!

You can also purchase food and have it shipped or dropped at my office, Re/Max Unlimited, 1080 Schadt Ave., Whitehall.

The office will be open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays-Fridays and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays. Please leave the food in the foyer on the right side. You need a face mask to come in the building.

Monetary donations are also appreciated and should be made payable to Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative. On the memo line, put Community Outreach Program and mail to 1080 Schadt Ave., Whitehall, 18052.

We are a 501(c)3 public charity, and your donation may be tax deductible. All donations are going 100 percent to purchase food for distributions.

Volunteers are needed to unload and load food noon-1 p.m. Wednesdays. You must be able to lift 22-pound boxes of produce.
