UPPER MACUNGIE: Lehigh Valley Zoo reopens
Lehigh Valley Zoo, 5150 Game Preserve Road, Schnecksville, has reopened.
Admission tickets must be purchased in advance at lvzoo.org/reopen.
Timed reservations are being used to limit capacity and to allow plenty of room for guests and groups to enjoy the zoo at their leisure while adhering to social distancing protocols.
Print tickets if possible. If you cannot print the tickets, make sure the ticket file is downloaded and open on the cellphone when you are lined up for check-in, and make sure your screen is as bright as possible.
Check in may be delayed if the screen is dim, cracked or covered with a dirty screen protector.
Masks or appropriate face coverings are required for all visitors age 2 and older. Make sure the mask covers nose and mouth.
The zoo has developed a reopening plan in accordance with Centers for Disease Control guidelines, public health guidelines, and recommendations set forth by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, and is strictly adhering to all federal, state and county mandates pertaining to operating procedures and guest capacity.
Many no-contact procedures, such as point of sale, food pickup, etc. have been implemented and Plexiglass shields have been installed at point-of-sale locations.
Seating has been rearranged to allow for social distancing, and a one-way traffic route around the zoo has been established for guests to follow.
Signage and applied floor markings denote social distancing guidelines, and the zoo is adhering to a strict and frequent cleaning schedule.
Giraffe and Lorikeet feedings and interactions are closed, as well as the playground area and Preston’s Pad.
Water fountains are also closed. Guests are encouraged to bring their own water bottles.

Parkland Community Library, South Whitehall, is hosting a LEGO Masters Show and Tell for kids 3-4 p.m. July 10 on Zoom.
Every Monday staff will email participants a new LEGO challenge to be completed by the end of the week.
Participants will then have 2-3 minutes during the show and tell to share their creation and talk about their engineering process.
Yoga instructor Larissa Noto from The Lovely Lotus Yoga, will be hosting a Virtual Lil Yogi and Me event for kids through age 4 and a parent/caregiver 9-9:30 a.m. July 6 on Zoom.
Make it Mondays will be held from 3-3:15 p.m. July 6 and 13 on Facebook.
Each week staff will demonstrate a STEM project, craft or messy activity kids can make at home.
Virtual story time with Miss Mary will be held from 10-10:30 a.m. July 8 and 15 on Facebook.
Miss Mary will read a story and there will be singing.
This story time is perfect for all ages but is geared toward kids ages 5 and younger.
