KCC seeks donations to renovate banquet hall

There has been a long-held dream of making the Kempton Community Center’s banquet hall brighter and more attractive for those seeking an affordable venue for weddings, parties, meetings and other such events.

KCC is the recipient of 20 substantial windows, three glass entryways, many cabinets, countertops, lighting and plumbing fixtures, and much more from the former Albany Township Elementary School.

These items were given to KCC by the owner of that building, which is being renovated.

Dedicated KCC volunteers are poised to install these items, but with the COVID-19 shutdown, KCC has almost no cash flowing in to buy the necessary materials to do so.

The materials needed to install and trim out each window, as shown in the photo, will cost about $500.

The material for the entryway and porch, as well as for the other two entryways, will cost in total about $5,000.

Around $10,000 is needed for materials to install everything. Help is needed from local contractors willing to donate their time to install one or more windows.

To help fund this endeavor, make a tax-deductible contribution to the “KCC Windows-and-Doors Fund” and send it to KCC at P.O. Box 42, Kempton, PA 19529.
