LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Library opens at Roma Building

Parkland Community Library reopened June 15 at its new temporary location in the ROMA Building, 1605 N. Cedar Crest Blvd., Suite 302, South Whitehall.

According to the library’s Enewsletter, the library has limited pickup and drop-off hours in accordance with Gov. Tom Wolf’s and the State Librarian guidelines during the yellow phase.

Hours are by appointment only.

When a patron places holds online or with library staff, they will call patrons to arrange a one-hour window for them to pick up their materials.

Patrons will only be allowed to return and pick up materials during library hours 9 a.m. to noon and 3-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

During the break, staff will be deep cleaning the library and materials.

Until the Lehigh Valley is in the green phase, only staff are allowed inside the library at this time.

Returns should be dropped off outside Suite 302 in the designated bins.

There will be no drop-off bins in the Roma Building after library hours.

North Whitehall Township’s book drop will remain closed until further notice.

All materials will be quarantined per CDC guidelines of three days before being checked in and shelved.

Staff recommend limiting a patron’s checkouts to five adult items and 10 children’s items.

All items borrowed by patrons at the library before its closing on Feb. 10 will have a new due date of July 1. Patrons will not incur overdue fines.

Wear a face mask before entering the Roma Building and 6 feet of spacing must be observed indoors.
