Hokendauqua: Churches hold outdoor services

First Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua, 3005 S. Front St., is now holding outdoor worship services at the church. The church welcomes its members and guests, if you feel comfortable to do so, in the church side yard for a brief in-person worship.

The services will start 10 a.m., weather permitting. The service will also be livestreamed on Facebook, and the video recording will be posted on the church website, hokeypres.org.

Some things to keep in mind if attending: Bring your own lawn chair (no other seating will be provided); practice safe social distancing by sitting at least 6 feet apart from others; wear a mask and avoid touching your face; if you feel ill, stay home and watch the video on your preferred online platform.

If imminent rain is in the forecast, the in-person worship will be canceled; however, the livestream will continue. If leaders of the church cancel, an announcement will be posted by 9 a.m. Sunday on the church website and on Facebook.

The Rev. Christine K. Kass, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua, invites kids to a new program, held 10 a.m. Saturday mornings. Kass meets with kids via Zoom, and they talk about their week and what’s been going on. Kass also does a little children’s sermon.

Kass is opening up this Zoom event to any children who are interested, not just those from the church.

For more information or to join in, email Kass at revchristyk@gmail.com for the Zoom link.
