Martin Luther Stein, NWLL coach, umpire

Martin “Marty” Luther Stein, 84, died June 14, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg. Born in Allentown, he was a son of Raymond and Marie (Sauers) Stein. He was the husband of the late Gloria (Yanek) Stein for 53 years.

He was a 1954 graduate of Allentown HS.

He was in the U.S. Navy, joining in 1956, and was aboard the U.S.S. Belle Grove while stationed in California.

He was a foreman at Arbogast and Bastian meat packing plant for 25 years. After a short stint at Mack Trucks, he became the traffic manager at Keystone Food products. He worked post retirement at Northampton Community College’s athletic facilities.

He was a member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Roman Catholic Church.

He was a coach / umpire with Northwest Little League for 35 years. He ran the District 20 tournaments for many years.

He is survived by a daughter, Michelle and her husband David Miller; a son, Michael and his wife Michelle; and two granddaughters, Rachel and Stephanie Stein.
