Desiree Marie Ortiz, 24, of Slatington, was taken into custody after allegedly injuring another person in an incident in a residence in the 4800 block of Liberty Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 9:50 p.m. May 31, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Christina Ayana Byard, 26, of Allentown, allegedly struck an employee at Wawa 3321 Willow Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 7:18 a.m. May 16, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Video surveillance footage showed Byard allegedly striking the employee in the face, stomping on the employee’s eyeglasses and throwing items near a register in the store. The eyeglasses were valued at $250. A plastic label holder also was damaged.

A 37-year-old male, of Macungie, allegedly struck another person in the face with his fist, resulting in injuries, at a location on Clauss Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 1:14 p.m. May 25, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

An individual broke into a wood stand and removed $60 cash between 5:30 p.m. June 7 and 1 p.m. June 11 at a location along Sweetwood Drive, Upper Milford Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. An individual forced entry through a chain link fence at a location at Church Lane and Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township and cut and removed multiple sections of copper wiring from a cell tower between 9 a.m. April 7 and 9 a.m. April 15, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. A resident of the 1100 block of Grange Road, Lower Macungie Township, reported a registration plate, valued at $11, removed from a vehicle sometime between May 30 and June 2 at an unknown location.

A customer allegedly threatened a store employee at Wawa, 4900 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, after the employee asked the man to put on a mask while shopping in the store 3:47 a.m. May 24, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The customer allegedly threatened to return to the store with a weapon. The customer is described as wearing a backwards New York Yankees ball cap, a gray sweatshirt with a swordfish logo on the front and the word “Atlantic” on the back, gray sweatpants and white sneakers. The man also had a mustache and beard. The man took off his face mask while shopping, according to police. The suspect left the store in a new model silver Chevrolet Equinox SUV and did not return to the store, according to state police.

An Emmaus woman, 84, was injured when the vehicle she was driving struck a fallen tree in the 7300 block of Kings Highway South, Lower Milford Township, 12:40 p.m. June 3, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle was southbound soon after a heavy rainfall. Upon seeing the tree blocking both lanes of the road, the driver tried to brake but could not stop in time. Macungie Ambulance Corps, Lower Milford Fire Police and Detwiler’s Towing also responded to the accident scene.
