Churches honor graduates with trunk ’n’ treat

Christ Lutheran Church and United Methodist Salem Church, both in Allentown, had a party June 7 for five members graduating from high school and college.

Class of 2020 graduates included:

Colton Fritchman, who graduated from Allen High, wants to attend a technical school to become an electrician and a member of the electricians union.

Morgan Fritchman, Colton’s sister, is graduating from North Park University in Chicago with a degree in exercise science.

She will be applying to a doctorate program in physical therapy for 2021.

Meanwhile, she will be going back to North Park University to start her Master’s degree in business administration and health administration.

Jonah Adamcik graduated from Muhlenberg College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in religious studies with a focus on Early Christianity and Manuscripts.

Zachary Post, graduated from Penn State, with a Bachelor of Science in bio behavioral health.

Mickatelyn Shumanis, graduated from East Stroudsburg University with an Master of Science degree in speech pathology.

A trunk and treat was planned for the afternoon by the women church members.

The trunks of vehicles were decorated with different color party streamers, balloons and signs.

Lunch for all was available at tables set up in the parking lot across from Christ Lutheran Church on 13th and Hamilton streets.

Ham or turkey sandwiches, bags of chips, cookies and cupcakes and beverages were provided.

A cake was made for each of the five graduates by Eric Smith, a church member who attends Salisbury High School, and the Lehigh Career and Technical Institute commercial baking course.

Barbara Wentling made a mask for each of the graduates featuring a pattern of mortarboard caps.

She also saw to it that there was music during the party.

There was a table for cards for the graduates and many contained gift cards.

This trunk with “Way to Go Colton” at the Christ Lutheran Church and United Methodist Salem Church graduation party June 7, was decorated for Colton Fritchman, a graduate of William Allen High School.
