Grade: Graduated
Family members: Mother Lori Lopez, father David Lopez, sister Paris Lopez
Favorite subject: My favorite subject in school was art because it gave me a creative outlet which was helpful with the stress of IB.
Activities: I was in Science Honor Society, Music Honor Society, academic team, jazz band and concert band, and was president of Art Honor Society.
Next steps: I am applying to four-year colleges to get a degree in art history and eventually my master’s.
Career goals: My career goal is to be an art curator working in a museum.
Heroes: A personal hero of mine is Wangari Maathai. She was a political activist and the first woman to earn a Nobel Prize. She started the green belt movement planting trees across Kenya and trying to combat climate change. She was also a strong activist for human rights.
Hobbies: Something I enjoy is gardening and I love to have plants anywhere I can.
Current job(s): I am a supervisor and ice maker at Rita’s Italian Ice.
Volunteer/community work: Some community work I do is helping to tutor younger children or help them with their homework after school.
Likes: Some things I like are coffee, Panera Bread and reality TV shows.
Dislikes: Some things I dislike are disorganization and exercising.
Greatest accomplishment (so far): One of my greatest accomplishments was planning my aunt’s wedding from start to finish. With her input I got to design everything from centerpieces to ceremony decoration.
Advice for peers: My advice is to pick a career that you are truly interested in, not just what you think seems practical.
