Warren A. Henninger
Warren Adam Henninger, longtime resident of Moses Lake, Wash., died May 23, 2020, following an accident doing what he loved, working in his yard.
He truly believed “to live is Christ and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21). He will be sorely missed.
Born Aug. 4, 1945, in Allentown, he was a son of the late Harold and Jeanette Henninger.
He loved growing up on a family potato farm, helping his dad plant, harvest, grade and sell potatoes.
Very active in FFA and serving as FFA president at his high school, he graduated from Penn State University in Agronomy and went on to pursue his graduate studies in crop science at Oregon State University.
He met his wife, Judy, in graduate school and they were married in Klamath Falls, Ore. on July 12, 1970, and had three children.
His entire life and career was spent working in the potato industry in Oregon and Idaho before moving to Washington.
After graduate school, he began his work as a county agent, then was hired by Simplot as a researcher and field manager, and later moved to Moses Lake, as a division field manager for Carnation (later Nestle and then Simplot).
One of his career highlights was taking the first seed potatoes to China for McDonald’s french fries.
In 1997, he founded Ag World Support Systems to meet an industry need of an independent third-party potato inspection company.
He loved every moment working with growers, processors and potato industry folks and traveling the world and serving on the board of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Inland Northwest.
He founded the Ag World Golf Classic benefiting the Ronald McDonald House.
He was very involved in Lakeview Missionary Church for the past 42 years and served on the church board, district board and national board of the Missionary Church.
For the past 15 years, he and his wife enjoyed ministering at a local care home each Sunday morning.
He had a passion for God, family and potatoes.
A cherished husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, he was always a stable force in the lives of others.
He loved providing for and taking care of his family, friends, and anyone in need.
An honorable man, he loved his Lord and his family.
Proud of his children, he took great joy in helping them pursue their career endeavors as both a father and mentor.
He was loved so very much, he will be missed beyond words can express.
In addition to his beloved wife of 49 years, he is survived by his son Bryan and Nancy Henninger and grandchildren Zachary, Caroline, Nathaniel, twins Brielle and Claire, of Moses Lake, son Craig and Sarah Henninger and grandchildren Addison, Carter, twins Landon and Cole of Wheaton, Ill.; daughter Melanie and Adam Finch of Moses Lake; siblings Janet and Jack Snyder, Gerald and Barbara Henninger, Donald and Nancy Henninger, Kathleen and Willard Strunk, and Marilyn and Patrick Crawley; and much-loved nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
