Lillian C. Schaffer
Lillian C. Schaffer, 87, formerly of Schnecksville, died May 16, 2020, in Luther Crest, South Whitehall, where she had been residing.
She was the wife of the late William J. Schaffer who died in 2010.
Born Sept. 3, 1932, in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Samuel J. and Esther L. (Stettler) Grim.
She was employed in the Laurys Station and Slatington post offices for 25 years before retiring.
Before that, she worked for the former Western Electric, Allentown, for 10 years.
She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Laurys Station, living her faith through Biblical teachings since 1956.
She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoyed traveling with her husband and their friends, and loved playing pinochle.
Her survivors include a daughter Cathlene A. Paules and her companion, Andrew, of Schnecksville; son Craig W. Schaffer and his wife, Mimi, of Naples, Fla.; sister Irene L. Scherr of Allentown; grandchildren Blaine, Lauren, Christopher and William; and great-grandchildren Talyn, Gage and Marcus.
She was predeceased by siblings Paul S. Grim and Eleanor P. Schneck and a great-grandson, Mason.
Private funeral services will be held at Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Schnecksville, with the Rev. Dr. James T. Gottwald officiating.
There will be no public calling hours. Interment will follow the service at St. John’s UCC, Cemetery, Laurys Station.
