A Catasauqua man died after a one-vehicle crash June 4 in Whitehall Township.

According to Lehigh County Coroner Eric D. Minnich, Jeffrey Fletcher, 71, was the operator of a vehicle that veered off the roadway into a wooded area around the 800 block of Sumner Avenue. Fletcher’s vehicle struck several trees.

The crash occurred approximately 10 p.m. Fletcher died nearly two hours later at St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown.

Minnich said he died of blunt force trauma complicating multifactorial cardiovascular disease. He ruled the death an accident.

Whitehall Township Police Department is continuing the investigation of the crash.
