NORTH WHITEHALL: New music director at Union Lutheran Church
Susan Frickert has been selected as the new director of music at Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville.
Her previous position was at St. John’s United Church of Christ, Nazareth.
Frickert, who has more than 20 years experience in music ministry, has accompanied and directed choirs, and has worked with Lehigh University’s music department and students on major choral works.
At Union Lutheran, she will direct the Union Chorale, the Praise Band, Bell Choir and the children’s choir.
She also will work with Pastor Gordon Camp to prepare music for weekly worship.
Her first Sunday at Union Lutheran was on Mother’s Day via YouTube.

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will celebrate Youth Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. May 31 online worship service.
High school seniors will present the sermon and other youth will participate through readings and music.
Pastor Kayli Freeman gave the following message to the church’s young people.
“As strange as this year has turned out to be, we have the faith and hope that this will not be a permanent thing,” Freeman said. “Life will eventually get back to normal. [When that happens,] we will celebrate your accomplishments, all of your hard work, and the futures of greatness you are destined to have.”

St. John’s United Church of Christ, Laurys Station, has been conducting online services 10:15 a.m. Sundays mornings via Facebook.
Another way to experience the worship is by calling 1-929-205-6099 on a cellphone or landline. Enter meeting ID #987-4221-8993 to listen to the live service.
The call should be placed 10 minutes before the service and will be a long distance call if the landline is used.
In June, the service will change to 9 a.m. Sundays, whether online or in person, depending on COVID-19 precautions.
St. John’s technology committee reports the average number of online viewers has been 500.
This means services have been shared with family and friends who would not have been reached otherwise.
