Class of 2020 appreciation parade to be held July 25

Catasauqua High School

According to Catasauqua Police Chief Douglas Kish, there will be a Catasauqua High School Class of 2020 appreciation parade July 25, pending the lifting of some restrictions by Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf.

Kish reported the parade will be held in conjunction with Catasauqua Area School District’s plans for a graduation ceremony.

The school district will advise students as to what is acceptable in regard to vehicle decorations; however, Kish noted the police have the ultimate right of refusal or modification if safety becomes an issue.

“We want to make this special for the Class (of 2020), but we need to remind ourselves of the social-distancing mandates and that safety is of the utmost importance,” Kish said.

Kish noted the department will follow the school district’s lead and more information will be available closer to the date.
