Salisbury Township School District has made a virtual field day for all students this year in light of the current school closure. Activities can be done at your preferred timing May 13 or 15. There are several activity links on the district email with information. The district is asking for photos of your children completing the events to be sent to fieldday@salisburysd.org to be posted on social media.

St. Luke’s University Health Network has implemented the school-based Get Your Tail on the Trail 165 Mile Challenge! Get Your Tail on the Trail (or TOT for short) is a free program where users log their miles and earn free gear. The biggest challenge, logging 165 miles or more, started May 1 and goes through Nov. 2. If you reach 165 miles between May and November, you get a prize.

They have also added some friendly competition to this challenge. When students and their families sign up, they can select your school district, which allows them to run reports on engagement. The school who logs the most miles from May to November will get an additional prize. Visit tailonthetrail.org to register.

The township has recently reopened the yard waste drop off sites, as long as social distancing procedures are maintained. The Franko Farm site will be open daily 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. the week of May 18. No staff will be able to help unload and the number of vehicles in the lot will be limited. Proof of residency is required as well as a mask.

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.
