Vine Church ministry online

Pastor of The Vine Church Adam Kern, Schnecksville, has told The Press weekly worship services are offered online at 10 a.m.

He offers the Biblical message while his wife, Nicole, supplies the vocal and piano components.

“The pandemic is affecting everyone but we still want to get the message of Christ out to the community,” Kern said.

“Technology is great and we can connect with many of our families.”

Kern also noted he has been encouraged to reach new families online he did not know before.

“We hope that continues into the future when we can get back to meeting face-to-face,” Kern said.

He noted The Vine Church’s ministry to Lehigh Carbon Community College students has moved to an electronic format.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Vine members had Bible study on the LCCC campus and averaged 10-15 students each session.

Kern conceived of the idea for a local campus ministry as he reflected on his own experience at West Chester University.

Kern said he was positively influenced, as a student, by a worldwide college Christian outreach organization which made contact with young people on campus.

The pastor said another Vine Church project is to help families who are going through hardships by providing groceries and some financial assistance.

“We’re trying to do the best we can to represent Christ and to help them out,” Kern said.

The Vine Church has been meeting with the Agape Fellowship congregation along Route 873 since November 2019.

“We are combining all of our ministries for the time being,” Kern said. “They’ve been very gracious and amazing to us.”

He explained The Vine Church is extending demographics of the ministry by bringing in young families.

“This is encouraging for both sides,” Kern said.
