BREAKING NEWS: President Trump to visit Upper Macungie Township medical equipment distributor

According to a White House official, President Donald Trump will visit the Owens and Minor Inc. medical equipment distributor in Upper Macungie Township, on May 14.

During the visit, the president will tour the distribution center and deliver remarks.

The President is expected to discuss his Administration’s efforts to use the Strategic National Stockpile to lead the world in COVID-19 testing, as well as his actions to replenish and bolster the SNS so that the America is never caught off guard again.

The SNS was built to supplement state and local supplies during public health emergencies, and other serious disasters and attacks.

The Trump Administration has taken unprecedented steps to mobilize these resources to expeditiously respond to the COVID-19 outbreak, which includes rapidly building up America’s testing capacity.

In the near future, the U.S. will have performed 10 million tests around the country – far more than most other countries combined.

In addition to these extraordinary efforts to use the SNS, the president has been actively engaged with governors, state and local officials, and the private sector to vastly improve and bolster the capabilities of the stockpile.

These efforts will ensure America is fully prepared for any future emergencies or disasters.

Owens and Minor Inc. is a 137 year-old American medical equipment distributor that has sent millions of N95 masks, surgical gowns, and gloves to hospitals and surgery centers across the country to respond to COVID-19.

This will be the president’s 18th trip to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania during his administration.
