With the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) closing ArtsQuest’s SteelStacks’ and Banana Factory venues, the Bethlehem nonprofit has launched online concerts, movie talks, “Toddler Storytimes” and “Improvised Standup.”
The content is available at a new ArtsQuest@Home webpage: www.artsquest.org/athome, and on ArtsQuest social media.
ArtsQuest is providing links to live streaming concerts of artists who have performed at Musikfest and-or SteelStacks, including Low Cut Connie, Talking Heads tribute band Start Making Sense and Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn.
“Live Movie Talks” topics range from content on streaming platforms to critiques of recent movie releases.
Addyson Teal hosts “Improvised Standup,” with each episode featuring local and regional comedians. Viewers may offer topics for jokes that comedians, streaming from their homes, will make up on the spot.
ArtsQuest Senior Director of Visual Arts and Education Lisa Harms offers “Facebook Live” presentations of “Toddler Storytime,” ArtsQuest’s education program. Harms reads children’s and family books, geared for children ages 2-5.
Other highlights of ArtsQuest@Home include Spotify playlists of Musikfest and other artists, digital exhibitions of ArtsQuest exhibits and programming offered by arts and cultural organizations from around the United States.
