Aidan Tarafas, a student at Emmaus High School, recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
He was formally presented the Eagle Scout award at a Court of Honor ceremony at St. Ann Church, Emmaus.
Tarafas is the son of Daniel and Jennifer Tarafas.
Tarafas joined Cub Pack 80 in 2010 and has been dedicated to Scouting ever since.
Tarafas is currently a member of Troop 80, St. Ann Church, Emmaus and Pohopoco Chapter, Witauchsoman Lodge #44, Order of the Arrow.
For his Eagle project, Tarafas created an area for fellowship and gathering at his local church. Tarafas worked with Scouts, Scout leaders and volunteers to create a refreshment cart and eight engraved benches for the site. With over 400 volunteer hours by all, the project was well received and premiered to greet a new priest to the parish.
During the process of satisfying the requirements for the Eagle rank, Tarafas has performed community service, provided service and leadership for his Troop and is currently serving as an assistant senior patrol leader for his Troop.
In addition to the traditional outdoor skills learned in Scouting, Tarafas has earned over 55 merit badges earning him two bronze, two gold and two silver Eagle Palms, which were also presented at his Court of Honor.
