Unlike ever before, individuals of all ages are staying home to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In order to keep their sanity, people are taking up new and exciting activities while in lockdown. To get a sense of what the Notre Dame community is doing while on quarantine, I decided to take a poll on Instagram.
Though some people are saying that they are either sleeping way too much or staring at their ceiling, others are taking the initiative and starting healthy habits, like working out or baking. Since mid-March, people have been scouring different apps, like Pinterest and TikTok, to find different workout routines and fun recipes. Senior Alison Pinter has been enjoying family walks as a way to get outside and stay active. Like many other teens, I have spent my early mornings whipping up instant coffee to try a new caffeine craze.
While last weekend would have been Notre Dame’s musical, “Annie,” students are now turning their eyes and ears to Netflix for entertainment. With hours of new documentaries and television shows, students can finally catch up on all of the shows they might have missed during the school year. Notre Dame students are also getting crafty in their spare time, as many individuals are using quarantine to sew, paint, and upcycle old clothes lying around their house. Though spring sports might have be canceled, ND students are keeping their competitive nature alive by playing different video games. Even from home, Notre Dame students have made the best of quarantine and truly have made this year unforgettable. Although Notre Dame might be empty right now, it still is and always will be a great day to be a Crusader.
