Consider purchasing a yard sign to help the Class of 2020

No decision has formally been made about Northwestern Lehigh High School graduation ceremony and many school districts across the commonwealth are still in the planning stages while awaiting state guidelines.

One way to help members of the Class of 2020, who unfortunately are missing out on many senior year activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the closing of schools, is to buy a senior yard sign.

The Northwestern Lehigh Education Fund is reaching out to the community regarding the senior signs, and many people have offered to purchase a sign for a senior who may not get one.

“Partnering with the foundation may be a good way for you to make a donation,” NWLEF Secretary Val Creitz said. “You can either buy a sign for a specific senior or note that the money is meant to go to the Class of 2020.”

Each customized yard sign is $25.

“There are approximately 150 graduating seniors,” Creitz said.

“So far, only 50 signs have been purchased.”

To order, go online to nwlef.org/seniors.

To make just a donation, in the box where it asks for the student’s name, write “general donation” and the money will go to the Class of 2020.

Signs are double-sided, 24-inch by 18-inch, with a metal stand.

Order online on or before April 26.

Curbside sign pickup opportunities are:

May 13: Northwestern Lehigh Elementary, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

May 18: High school gymnasium lobby, 2:30-6 p.m.

May 23: Ontelaunee Park, 8-11 a.m.
