Notre Dame presents “Annie,” America’s favorite Great Depression-era orphan, at 7 p.m. April 24, 25 and 2 p.m. April 26, auditorium, Notre Dame High School, 3417 Church Road, Bethlehem Township.
The musical, based on the comic strip, “Little Orphan Annie,” created by Harold Gray, has music is by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin and book by Thomas Meehan.
Notre Dame director Sharon Lencheski is assisted by choreographer Erin Griffith, student dance captain Sierra Irving, costumer Katelyn Schweitzer and prop master Isaiah Corkery.
The original 1977 Broadway production received 10 Tony Award nominations, winning seven Tonys. The 1997 and 2012 Broadway revivals each received one Tony nomination.
Featured numbers include “Tomorrow,” “It’s the Hard Knock Life,” “Easy Street,” “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile” and “Maybe.”
