Parkland senior seeks votes

Parkland High School senior Lynsey Reynard, who recently entered a video contest called the TeenDrive365 Video Challenge sponsored by Toyota and Discovery Education, is asking the public for votes.

The TeenDrive365 Video Challenge is an annual nationwide contest that promotes safe driving especially amongst teenagers.

The challenge was to create a short public service announcement about the dangers of distracted driving.

Her video titled “Stay Focused” is a side-by-side comparison about the dangers of letting distracted study habits also become driving habits.

Lynsey’s video was a Top 10 finalist out of 850 submissions from around the country which means her video will be competing in a public voting contest for the People’s Choice Award.

With the votes, she could win up to $7,500 to put toward her future education at Drexel University.

The voting period is open until April 22. Individuals can vote once per day, per device.
