A union strike heats up a pajama factory in “The Pajama Game,” 7 p.m. April 16, 17 and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. April 18, Masson Auditorium, Allentown Central Catholic High School, 301 N. Fourth St., Allentown.
The musical, with music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross, and book by Bob George Abbott and Richard Bissell, is based on Bissell’s novel “7½ Cents.”
Central Catholic production director Kateri Swavely-Verennai is assisted by assistant director-choreographer Adrienne Motley and music director Hunter Chadeayne.
The original 1954 Broadway production received three Tony Awards of three nominations. The 2006 Broadway revival received nine Tony nominations and won two Tonys.
Featured numbers include “7½ Cents,” “Steam Heat,” “Racing With the Clock,” “There Once Was a Man” and “Hernando’s Hideaway.”
