Ringo Starr has announced that he is rescheduling his Spring 2020 All-Starr Band tour because of Covid-19.

Starr’s tour cancellation includes a June 6 concert at the State Theatre Center for the Arts, Easton, rescheduled for June 7 next year.

The State Theatre website advises ticket-holders for the June 6 concert: “Please hold on to your tickets. They will be valid for the new date.”

The 2020-2021 All-Starr Band features Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, Gregg Rolie, Warren Ham, Gregg Bissonette and Hamish Stuart.

“This is very difficult for me,” stated Starr, who drummed for the world-famous group of “Lads from Liverpool,” the Beatles.

“in 30 years, I think I’ve only missed two or three gigs, never mind a whole tour.

“But this is how things are for all of us now. I have to stay in just like you.

“And we all know, it’s the peace and loving thing we do for each other.

“So, we have moved the spring tour to 2021. My fans know I love them, and I love to play for them and I can’t wait to see you all as soon as possible.

“In the meantime, stay safe. Peace and love to you all,” Starr stated in the press release.

With the Beatles, Starr sang ”Yellow Submarine,” “With a Little Help from My Friends” and their cover of “Act Naturally,” and sang and wrote “Don’t Pass Me By” and “Octopus’s Garden.”

Starr’s solo career hits include “It Don’t Come Easy,” “Photograph,” “You’re Sixteen,” “Back Off Boogaloo” and “No No Song.”

Starr isn’t the first or only major music star to cancel or postpone tours because of concerns about the Coronavirus.

Headliners canceling or postponing tours and concert dates include Elton John, Rolling Stones, Celine Dion, Camila Cabello, Cher, Alicia Keys, Garth Brooks, Zac Brown Band, Little Big Town. Brooks & Dunn, Reba McEntire, Metallica, Pearl Jam, Tool, Thom Yorke and Wilco.

Festivals have also been cancelled or postponed, including Coachella 2020. rescheduled to Oct. 9-11, 16-18; Bonnaroo, rescheduled to Sept. 24-27; Monster Energy Up & Up Festival, rescheduled to late summer, fall; New Orleans Jazz & Heritage festival, rescheduled to fall; SXSW, Austin, Tex., which was canceled, and Summerfest, Milwaukee, Wisc., rescheduled to Sept. 3-5, 10-12, 17-19.

Also, the 55th annual Academy of Country Music Awards is postponed to September.
