STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Q. Who are the members of your family: parents, siblings and pets?

A. My wonderful family consists of my parents Josh and Tina Luey, my older brother Nathan and my cat, Kit Kat.

Q. What do you most enjoy about being a senior at Emmaus High School?

A. As a senior I am enjoying the ability to help the younger students with their classes as well as leading them through their high school experience to make it the best possible.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is science mainly in the field of physics. This is because of the complex problem solving and math that comes with the class which challenges me to work hard and learn from my mistakes.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. At school I have received many student of the month awards, leadership and excellence in science as well as excellence in physics. I am also a member of National Honor Society and French National Honor Society. Outside of school I am a member of The Boy Scouts of America and I am currently working on the rank of Eagle Scout.

Q. What are your favorite extracurricular activities?

A. I am currently a Life Scout in The Boy Scouts of America and I am working on my Eagle Scout rank. I also play soccer for Western Lehigh Soccer Club and am a member of the Envirothon Club.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. My next goal is to go to college to study biomedical engineering and participate in research to help solve problems challenging the world.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge to date is choosing where I want to go to college. I have always had trouble making big decisions and choosing a college is a major decision I have been dreading for a long time. However, I have many people helping me and making the process less stressful.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered as a leader both inside and outside of the classroom as well as someone who is always willing to give a helping hand to those in need.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my parents because they have always been supportive in my activities and have given me the tools to be kind and friendly as well as the skills to lead and help others. They also deserve credit for driving my brother and I around to all of our sports and other activities, sometimes hours away.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Students should get involved in as many clubs and sports as they can because it allows you to build relationships and it looks good on your college applications.
