Lehigh County farmers show they care

The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau’s Farmers Care Program recognizes the commitment of farm families to raising healthy food for communities in the commonwealth.

And, at the same time, it shows one way farmers volunteer to help those in need.

The Pennsylvania and the Lehigh, Bucks, Montgomery, Northampton/Monroe and Berks farm bureaus support this program by collecting food, and monetary donations for Ronald McDonald House Charities, or other local charities.

Each year, the Women’s Leadership Committee of the farm bureaus participate in the Farmers Care Program.

Jim Murray, co-founder of Ronald McDonald House and also the former general manager of the Super Bowl champion Eagles team, recently accepted the donation at Freddy Hill Farm, Lansdale, to honor the Farmers Care Program, formerly Food Check Out Day.
