Hokendauqua: First Presbyterian Church moves to online services

The Rev. Christine K. Kass, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua, said the church held its first online service March 15 because of COVID-19.

Services are viewable through Facebook livestreaming, Zoom and YouTube.

The April 5 Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative community meal at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church has been canceled for health and safety reasons.

First Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua, 3005 S. Front St., has postponed its flea market and yard sale, which was originally scheduled for 9 a.m.-3 p.m. April 25.

A new date is to be determined.

Hokey Athletic Association is looking for volunteer cheering coaches.

An upbeat, positive attitude is required. Those interested must be a team player and be able to follow roles and duties assigned by the head coach.

Coaches will be asked to assist the head coach with teaching the youth of the organization the basics in pep squad cheering.

Knowledge of stunting, gymnastics and/or choreography is helpful. You must be able to pass background and child abuse clearances.
