The Terrace at Phoebe celebrates Mardi Gras with prospective residents

The Terrace at Phoebe Allentown had a Mardi Gras open house on Shrove Tuesday.

Residents and prospective residents were treated to a cooking demonstration by Chef Mark Gellert, director of dining for Cura Hospitality, the food service provider for the Terrace.

The event provided both residents and prospective residents a glimpse of how older adults live at the Terrace at Phoebe.

The New Orleans delicacy prepared by Chef Mark was a Cajun shrimp etouffee, made with shrimp, onions, celery and green pepper.

A roux was used to thicken the etouffee, which was well received by all.
