The cast and crew of Disney’s Mulan Jr are ready to take the stage on opening night March 12 at Eyer Middle School.
“So ready that it is getting to be very stressful,” Molly Magro, one of the directors, said. Magro, library media specialist at the school, is co-directing the show with seventh grade teacher Jennifer Najarian. Both described the show as stressful, but a fantastic production.
“We have an amazing group of students who have worked hard and have embraced the culture of this play.”
“This play really showcases our eighth graders’ comedic talents, as well as many music numbers,” the directors said.
Most members of the production described it as “a great experience.”
Molly Yard, cast as one of the Mulans in this year’s play, said, “It’s amazing being double-cast with Julia Brown. It makes my part so much easier sharing it along side my friend.”
Most actors in the play feel confident, yet there is always a sense of nervousness.
Aiden Panko and Ethan Ervin, double-cast as Mushu, are appearing in their last production at Eyer Middle School. Both say they are ready to embrace their favorite character.
“I love working with the directors, they are the best. I’m hoping the show goes well,” Craig Salomon, who portrays Yao, said.
Tickets are available on the East Penn website. Tickets also will be available at the door. Discounted tickets are available for those 14 years old and younger and seniors 60 and older.
Performances are 7 p.m. March 12, 13 and 14 and 2 p.m March 14.
